Hawks Secure 5th NACA National Championship

FORT BLUFF, Tenn., February 24, 2023 – The Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Boys Basketball team defeated Arlington Christian School 49-47 to claim the NACA Division 1 National Championship.

In the final 3 games of the 2022-2023 season, the Hawks played some of their best team basketball of the season against some very tough competition.

Game 1: Hamilton Heights 70 – Shabach Christian Academy 68

Game 2: Hamilton Heights 68 – Life Center Academy 60

Game 3: Hamilton Heights 49 – Arlington Christian School 47

Hawks Victorious Over Tyner Academy

The Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Hawks Boys Basketball team traveled to Tyner Academy High School on Tuesday for a cross city contest against the very talented Rams.

The Hawks were able to walk away with a 64-49 win, bringing them to 5-8 on the season and putting a stop to a 6 game slide in a tough run of national competition.

“This is a much needed win and every one of our guys deserves some credit. We got just about everybody involved in the game, moved the ball well, were unselfish, and that showed in the end result” – Coach Stephen Cook

Camden Andrews was instrumental in the Hawks win, scoring 14 points and also creating opportunities for his teammates, finishing with 8 assists.

Bryson Andrews and Jordann Dumont each scored 15 points, with Dumont also pulling down 7 rebounds.

Somto Cyril had a great night on both ends of the floor, finishing with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 blocks.

Champ Patterson provided the Hawks with 7 points and 3 rebounds, while also being an all around team player and having 4 assists and 2 steals.

Hamilton Heights now travels to Knoxville on Thursday night (1/13) to face a very talented, Bearden squad who is currently ranked 10th in the state.

Andrews Brothers Lead Hawks to Record Setting Lighthouse Classic Victory

Camden Andrews and Bryson Andrews were spectacular on Saturday in a 87-73 Victory over Chicago Prep at the Lighthouse Classic in Corinth, MS. Camden had 17 assists and Bryson recorded 9 3’s, both single game records for the event.

The Hawks picked up a quality team win after a tough loss on Friday, and were led on the stat sheet by Jordann Dumont and Bryson Andrews. After the game, however, Coach Cook had the most praise for his teams ability to come together as a unit and take care of business on both ends of the court. He even spoke specifically about the defense of Aries Hull and Champ Patterson: “When Aries and Champ are locked in defensively, that’s when we are our best as a team. They make the game easier for their teammates.”

Hamilton Heights will now travel to Knoxville, TN on Monday 11/29 for a matchup against Knoxville Christian School.

Records

-Camden set the Lighthouse Classic record for assists in a single game with an incredible 17 assists.

-Bryson tied the Lighthouse Classic record for made 3 pointers in a single game by knocking down 9 of them.

-As a team, the Hawks set the single game record for the most made 3 pointers with 15. This record lasted about 6 hours until CPA out of Nashville, TN hit 17 3’s in their game.

Hawks Pull Out 2 Big Wins to Open Season

The Hamilton Heights Christian Academy Hawks kicked off the 2021-2022 Boys Basketball season over the weekend, picking up 2 big wins at the 8th Annual Hawks Havoc Classic.

In game one on Friday night, the Hawks defeated Southwest Ohio Prep 78-71. The Hawks were lead by Junior Jordann Dumont (26pts, 9 Reb) and Sophomore Somto Cyril (14reb, 9 Blocks).

Saturday saw the Hawks pull out an 85-82 Victory vs Franklin Prep Academy. Jordann Dumont once again paced the Hawks with 35 Points and 16 Rebounds, while Andrews brothers Camden (14pts, 11 reb, 5 ast) and Bryson (20pts, 50% from 3) also put together strong performances to help HHCA secure the win

The Hawks now look forward to the Lighthouse Classic in Corinth MS on November 26 & 27th.
